I need a little tutorial

so I built a 7 unit apartment complex that I want my sim to live in and be the landlord. I have also created six other sims to be the tenants in the other units. How does this work now ? Do i have to have my sim go on another lot, purchase the apartment building, and then he will be landlord and then i can place the other 6 households through manage worlds?
