I need lot ideas for Newcrest

So I'm going to be playing a legacy, which is different for me. I normally play with all YA sims, but now I'm going to be having households with children. So I'm building Newcrest to create new, fun lots to go to. In the section with the 50x40 lot, I have buildings placed on all but one of the lots. I have a library, a cafe, two restaurants.

But I can't decide what to do with the 40x30 lot. I don't want to do a park, and I'm pretty sure I don't want to do a lounge or a club, I want something family friendly but I'm sapped for ideas. Help me. Also, if you have inspiration pics I will forever love you

I made a generic venue on one of my saves in Newcrest on the 30x40 lot called "Bite of Newcrest" and put all the food stands from City Living there. I also made a stage area with a microphone and guitar, and a small building with restrooms, and placed picnic benches. I have mods in my game, but you can easily do it without mods. The stage area is flat though because different levels of foundations don't seem to work on the same lot.

You can make a museum and have areas for "art classes" or "music classes" for sims. Make clubs gather there.
Or instead of museum make it a community center (or Rec center). You can add a pool or if you have city living you can make a basketball court.
Put a little Aracade too (if you have get together and with kids room pack you can add voidcritter games)
You can make the venue a park without it actually being a park

If you have City Living, there's a new Art Center lot type that uses musical instruments, workbenches, easels etc. to make it a learning center. Give it some of the positive traits like Natural Light (for painting) or Good Acoustics (for Music) so Sims will build desired skills faster. That would be a really good venue if you've got families in your game. You could put in a Kid's Corner with the children's skill building items (chemistry set, art table, giant stuffed animal) and if you have the pack, the Kids Room Stuff items like the puppet theater and Voidcritter machines, plus bookcases and comfy seats for reading (I'd love if kids could sit or lay on the floor to read -- that was my usual favorite spot) and maybe a couple of desks for doing homework. Putting the items at the Art Center will also save you having to put them in your own household until maybe your legacy is a bit farther along and you've got a larger house with a bit more disposable income.
  • I like to place the Vital Climb gym and Chez Llama there. I also use the Newcrest-specific lots from the personal gallery and spice them up a bit if I feel like it.
  • Well, I used to have this in my Newcrest 30x40 lot. Church wedding venue with cemetery, for your loved ones.

  • I usually save Newcrest for my commercial lots. Mostly restaurants, bars, etc. I do have a country club in the big lot in one of my saves.
  • Sense the original post is 3 years old, no pictures needed. The OP has likely already built on the 30 X 40 lot.

Newcrest is my community center for restaurants, spas, retail lots etc. I'm a huge foodie though and dine out is my favorite pack so ive got like 10 restaurants there.

Hmm.. maybe I should start doing this, too. In my game, Newcrest is basically completely empty. ?
