  • Hmmmm...When I ponder all of the ways we "spice up" our Sims lives with mayhem, I also wonder whose Sims we are when our lives get "spiced up" with misfortune & chaos. I guess the lucky people are the ones with kind Simmers...

@floridameerkat I love the archeologist idea! I may have to try that with one of my sims.

It's a lot of fun, but keep in mind that if you ever end the vacation, any artifacts they've collected will be sent to the household inventory (unless you left them in your sim's personal inventory) and if you send them back, you can't access the household inventory while on vacation. I had this happen once. I filled a display case with artifacts and then had to leave because their kid was sent to daycare, and I needed to get her back, and when I returned, the case was empty. I found all of the artifacts in their household inventory the next time they returned to their home lot. After that, I just stopped saving stuff.

Recently been playing as a gold digger working her way up. Only 1,000 to start and stays in a shabby apartment. She's lazy and doesn't want to work for money, SO thought I'd have her always borrowing money from the men she flirts with. Had to build up her charisma though until she was able to ask for a small loan. Working her way up so she's able to eventually get a more high scale apartment. Might even mooch off of them going over to their place.

Have an archeolgist I play who doesn't profit from his findings in salvadorada. Instead he's been donating them to the local muesum with the help from a native that's been teaching him more of the culture and about their sacred artifacts. So he's been on a journey to find as much of these as he can. He has a less than savory assistant that may be selling some of their findings without his knowledge.

Have a grandfather that was left to raise his granddaughter due to parent the passed away and the other was just a deadbeat. He's too old to really be hired so he makes his living gardening with selling fresh produce. Not on good terms with her mother who seldom comes by and usually only to borrow money.
  • Rags to Riches challenges I always find fun. Right now I am exploring the depths of Handiness and what secrets it holds, as I never really explored it too far before. I am also working on building up my sim's good reputation, which ain't that easy. So many temptations. Might even later see how interesting it is to be a good vampire.

Spice your game... With a cook. ;)

Okay, try playing sims in costumes. They're so ridiculous it's fun.
  • I play with multiple save themes or stories and have gotten at least two ideas from this thread want to try just playing in costumes now @Hejix although I do have a clown save lol. I also want to actually stick to having an uncomfortableplayed sim life for once @ZelexPower2PC . I tend to end up going easy on them especially with kids and pets and make other non household sims the victims in any drama/tragedy I make.
Usually though that is my spice up I have save games where everything is good and they get ahead but if I find myself getting bored or restless it's time to pull out he big guns and play with an ruthless evil sim (traits and story may vary).
  • What I do is I come up with a core idea and see how it branches off. Like if I create a Scientist Sim I try to keep his interests related to his personality I created for him. I use Whims as best as I can and other reward points to keep him alive and give him reward traits I feel suit him.

I add a touch of RNG goodness to the mix sometimes too. Using a dice to decide if my Sims are Gay or Straight of Bi or just Single not interested in WooHoo. Or if they get married or what careers they have. How many kids etc.

Sometimes stuff like that adds flavor to the stories I create.
