I put L shaped stairs next to wall!

So I was building a new house and fighting with the L stairs to look how I wanted them. I somehow ended up moving the stairs next to the wall and was amazed because usually you have to have a 1 tile length space between it... Did anyone figure out this yet? I haven't seen it. So I decided to start something new and figure out step by step how to do it exactly. Decided to share. :)

Hopefully you guys can follow along with how I tried to describe things....

So yeah. And the roof goes on fine. So no struggle with that. I did have to play around with a lot of objects to try and get the upstairs railing done. I thought about putting a room divider behind a couch in the three empty spaces upstairs, but didn't actually test to see if a sim could then sit on the couch....But this worked out okay, I think. Also, there is going to be a slope outside the house where the stairs meet, so you'll have to be creative with terrain tools and landscaping.

I have so many ideas and things I want to try with this new knowledge! lol, And sorry if this has already been posted, I just got so excited!

Good luck! And happy holidays. ;)

@Zasz Hey, I couldn't save the room because it doesn't recognize as one. I uploaded the house though, so hopefully you can figure something out. If you look up hashtag wyrren it should be the only thing that comes up. Have fun. ^^
  • Thank you @Wyrren for sharing this! I had tried from Kate Emerald’s video but this stuff is really finicky! Still, for old farmhouses and other reproductions I have rattling around on my mind this is really good stuff. The fence piece at the landing looks great from behind. My thought in seeing that was a SIM toddler sneaking out of bed, being spotted through the glass and promptly hauled back up the stairs and put back to bed.
  • :| :/ ... yeah, my sims will be walking up and down the stairs straight lol
I dunno if there's been some major update to building but I'm struggling so hard at the moment.
  • It really looks great, but did it mess up your roof?

The last time I did this I think was for a sunk in living room and it messed my roof up. I think I had gaps or something it's been well over a year so I don't really remember.

LOL never mind I finished reading.

    Great job!
  • This looks pretty cool! I like the little flower detail you've got there.

I hope we eventually get L shaped stairs, ladders, grand entryway staircases (curved), and spiral stair cases one day. It's only been oh, four years. No big deal. None at all. c:
  • Great work and thanks for sharing. I am pumped to try this very soon!! :) <3
  • Zasz's idea is the best, would work good in big staircases (except long parts from high foundations to ground), anyone knows how he makes floor on low wall?
  • @Zasz I think the game’s concept of room has changed and we will need to rethink how to work around. I’m thinking this new concept of room might be why I got snow in my greenhouse. It would be a shame if the game did not recognize @Wyrren clever house as a room and it got filled with snow despite being covered with a roof.
  • This is really cool! I have a build in mind, where this might help me to make it :)
