I sometimes feel like there is a hidden "bad luck" trait...

I have had a ton of issues with fires with my current Sim household.

When they had a toddler...she constantly was putting her wabbit tablet down too close to the fireplace. I think we went through 8 or 9 tablets, lost to fires, to that little tyke.

I also knitted a rug and put it down under the rocking chair...the chair itself never having caught on fire made me feel it was not too close to the fire.
Boy was I wrong.

Twice now Kim Goldbloom has decided to brew a potion while visiting this household. Both times, the kitchen stove caught on fire while she was cooking it...

Now I took the same Household on their first vacation to Granite Falls, and no sooner did I take one Sim away from the campgrounds and the campfire caused a massive fire. By the time I got my attention over to it the blaze was huge, we're talking 3x3 grid and everything in it on fire.

I can't remember the last time I had a Sim household with so many different instances of fires. It's freaking insane.

@GlacierSnow I did not even think of it in my original post here, but this household has also had 2 fires started by the incense too, on my sim who is a writer while he was working on a book. And just like you.... I don't recall it ever happening to any other sim household, and I use incense a lot.

Yeah! I was so baffled when it kept happening. I literally had no idea what was causing it because I had never seen the incense start a fire before. And it was especially hard to figure out because the fire would start under his chair while the incense was on the table. I didn't make the connection until it had happened several times. I would just replace everything once the fire was out, re-light the incense and sit him back down, growing increasingly perplexed each time it happened. :joy:

That sim was not having a good day, for sure.
  • So, I was going to try and do a Toddler Play Date while my sim was on Vacation, and then, this happened...

Kylen was trying to help his husband grill... I really love this screenshot. Aaron is casually walking away after accidentally starting a fire. Kylen hasn't noticed, and Lir is putting out the fire.

The firefighter's showed up after Lir put the fire out for his dads. His brothers were still way too close to the fire. Alex is the new Legacy Founder for my Kailani Legacy restart, and he's just staring at the charred grill. Alen is behind the bush slowly walking away from danger. Alen is the spare. Alex and Alen are twins.

Aaron said forbidden words when the firefighters started dancing...

The firefighters were completely useless, but that didn't stop them from acting like they helped.

  • @Metior_Ice I hae the same thing when Firefighters show up...by the time they arrive my Sims have put out the fire, but then they hang around and flirt with everyone. It's bizarre!
    Great screen captures!
