I WILL buy Snowy expansion...but wait a month for its sale price.

With Cyberpunk and AC Valhalla literally releasing within weeks of this expansion - both of which cost $80 Canadian (so $60 US) and having been BURNED EVERY SINGLE TIME by EA discounting their newly released expansions for 20% or more off a month or two after its release - I'm going to wait until their "winter sale" to buy this expansion.

I cannot tell you how frustrating it has been to buy almost EVERY expansion at 51.99 only to see it go on sale a month later!

Regardless I know I'll eventually pick this up, but not for a while anyway, not with Valhalla and Cyberpunk dividing my time mid november.

I do love the snow setting though, besides seasons I'd say this would be an easy buy for me...or would have been.

Anybody else here feel burned by their month later discounts after you paid full price?

I've noticed that new packs are taking longer to go on sale for 50% off. Unless you are comfortable purchasing on CDkeys.

I wanted to say exactly the same. I bought all EP's I have on half price and eco-lifestyle still hasn't been 50% off at this point, 4 months after release. (I am talking about origin sales. I don't trust CD keys and physical stores in my country seldom off 50% on games, definitely not after a month)
  • I plan on buying this pack because it’s the best one we’ve gotten this year (for me anyway) but until paralives is live that’s when I feel EA/Maxis will step up & stop giving lackluster/recycled/reskin packs. They need competition.
  • Waiting longer than an month as some great games are coming out and they will be brought first. I have no peps for this pack as I had not had peps for any of Sims 4 packs as I had for previous versions from older Sims games. I will also be picking up a few 3080s soon to update my systems.

For what it seems to be, it's definitely overpriced. Content wise looks like a Game Pack, not Expansion Pack, though it's possible some major content in it is yet to be announced. As it stands though, I'll not buy at full price. If it was a Game Pack however, I'd buy day one.

I really really like what I've seen of this pack, but I see what you mean about the Game Pack feel. To me it looks like 2 Game Packs that got merged in an interesting way. We have a great looking Japanese inspired world at the bottom of the map that got combined with Winter Sports and snowy fun at the top of the map. With the personality stuff stuck on as an extra.
  • I think Snowy Escape won't be on sale at least until february/march. Not sure I'll manage to wait until then, considering I'm very excited.

But also, I'm most definitely buying Cyberpunk in december, so maybe that will help me waiting.

Considering the only packs I don't own yet are Nifty Knitting and Journey to Batuu, I was thinking of maybe bundling those, but honestly I refuse to buy JtB.
  • Well Star War gp is on sale 50% off now. I have in the past been able to buy at Best Buy or EB Games for $20.00 less Canadian
So instead of paying $51.99 for direct download, I get the package with a code for $39.99
