You know this object will be found in buy debug. I'm hoping it can be placed in other worlds to teleport. I've asked Ninja and Romeo on Twitter.

I'd imagine, like the Forgotten Grotto Cave entrance and the Mysterious Tree. It should be under Hidden Objects and use cheats to get it. I would have preferred if it was like Get to Work, the Alien Portal, where you have to build/restore the portal. Like you stumble across an ancient archway, "who built it? why is it here? what are these markings on the ground?" and decipher the runes on the ground, gather what those symbols mean, and use your magic to open the portal. I would be more interested about the portal and the Realm of Magic if that was the approach.But to answer the question, It would be a hidden object.

I'd be annoyed if I have to take a quest to build it

Opening up a dormant/damaged gateway to the Realm by solving the mystery of the runes. Then there would be a history to the portal that would add more to the story and the player could choose the wise Sim who uncovered it and made the initial connection. Nice!

I hope we have a way to get there without going through Glimmerbrook. I'm assuming we will. Would be cool to build a hidden portal (or not hidden) portal in your sims home.

I wish we could use it to travel to other worlds as well eg use it to go to Sulani.

I wonder if we can place the portal in other worlds

@WolfNate You are spirit animal. I 100% agree. I’d be really frustrated having to unlock access to the magic realm especially as I’d have to do it in every save which is a major pet peeve of mine from the strangerville GP.

@Hermitgirl - I believe there is an orb that takes you to the magic realm and you can use a broom as well.

I’ll bet we can put the portal in other worlds through debug. I kind of like that the only one is in Glimmerbrook and I’ll keep it that way in my game.

All Casters from CAS or 'earning' the LS will automatically have an unremovable item called a Glimmerstone that can teleport a sim to The Magic Realm without ever needing to visit the Rune Gate in Glimmerbrook.

Hard work and getting one's hands dirty is an ancient and honourable way to get a job done. Much more satisfying as well, a sense of accomplishment.

On a practical note, just because an item is in buydebug does not mean the coding to make it functional is built in. It may turn out to be simply a decorative archway.

If you can buy it in debug, probably. I want to make this secret hiding spot in this Gothic cathedral I have been working on to have a portal so they can secretly go between worlds. Or can do something like Sabrina and have a magic closet portal.

You should be able to get to Glimmerbrook (as a Spellcaster) via the Glimmerstone and I would guess also flying there via broom?
I do remember a mention of several ways but it beats me what they are and if we were even told anything other than the stone.

Just a quick PSA in case those who aren't aware.

If the hidden objects cheat allows us to put a Portal on any lot, in any world. The portal you go through may not be the portal you return though.
If you go through the portal in any world, while you're in the Realm, you may/will always return through Glimmerbrook's Portal.

This is Just how The Mysterious Tree, and Forgotten Grotto Cave entrance works you always return back to willow creek and oasis springs respectively. I only imagine the same for this portal.

Yes, It has been confirmed that the following three ways will get you to the Realm of Magic, The portal, A spell and the Glimmerstone each spell caster will get. I have seen zero details on how each work and if you can take others with you as you travel. But there is at least three ways to get to the Realm of Magic.
