- Just.. No that would not be fun at all....
- I don't want to put in a cheat code to just become a mage. I'm pretty sure it's just open and there I don't want a SV quest to unlock the ability to become a mage that'll just tick me off

I'd imagine, like the Forgotten Grotto Cave entrance and the Mysterious Tree. It should be under Hidden Objects and use cheats to get it.
I would have preferred if it was like Get to Work, the Alien Portal, where you have to build/restore the portal. Like you stumble across an ancient archway, "who built it? why is it here? what are these markings on the ground?" and decipher the runes on the ground, gather what those symbols mean, and use your magic to open the portal. I would be more interested about the portal and the Realm of Magic if that was the approach.
But to answer the question, It would be a hidden object.
You don’t get magic until you go through the portal so that doesn’t make sense....
Not exactly, you see My sim's storyline Starts with them born with magic, and will have reached their full potential before their 18th birthday... Because they're that good... long before they even acknowledge the Portal. And when they do find this portal, they will only go there out of boredom and sheer curiosity.
If a Sim who doesn't possess Magic discovers a non working portal, but wants to get to the realm of Magic the other option is to befriend a spell caster to open it. or time it right when a spell caster passes through you follow right behind them.
I just prefer challenges, I don't like it when everything is handed over so easily. Especially a challenge I can manipulate into my own storyline.
I have no intentions of sending my sims through a portal to seek power, they have no teacher or mentor to guide them, just each other and the experiences they face in life and they quickly realize their magic runs on instinct, emotion, and self belief.
It's like even if they did that horrid Magic University idea, way back in the day, I still have no intention of sending my Sorcerer to a school to learn magic, Rather I may highjack the castle and change it from a School to my private home, Just Like I'm doing with the realm of Magic Although I can't make it my home, but It will make an excellent Prison.- OldeSimsFanNew TravelerHow about putting some of the magic lots into the Hollow as well?
