If Only I Had Known . . .

My king, Joseph the Second abdicated the throne, and along with it made his son and heir, the head of their dynasty.  Erik held a great Court and did his best to gain yet another ally.  He tried and tried. They even became best friends, but the interaction for him to ask her to become allies, just wouldn't show up.

The only thing that changed, only I didn't realize it up front, was when his father asked if they could stay with the now King for a few days.  Of course, the answer was yes.  Sadly, I now see that the new King is no longer the head of their dynasty, which made me think that's why he couldn't invite the other noble to join it. Only the head of the dynasty has that right. Face/palm.

The former King will be leaving in a few days, but it leaves me wondering if his departure will put things back the way they were, or if his arrival had nothing to do with the switch? In looking at the Dynasty status, the former king is head of the dynasty. Oi.

If only I had known, I may not have been so quick to invite him to stay!

What are things you wish you had known in advance before you proceeded along a certain path in your game? Please share.

  • Great NEWS.  I did some research on how to solve this highly unfavorable problem.  Some of the advice required either one of two mods. Let me tell you, neither of them worked. What did work, however, was having King Erik confront his father. His father stepped down from being the Dynasty Head, and because Erik was already the heir, he is now the Dynasty Leader. Yay!  (I don't know what steps I took the initial time, but obviously, it simply didn't work. My bad for not noticing.)

I am back to approaching Birthday Week, unfortunately.  The lucky thing is that all the college students have 6 of 12 credits required.  I used MCCC to give diplomas to both Erik and Kayleigh, although sadly, this time around I didn't find the option for them to actually graduate college.  They even went to the ceremony the original time. Oi!

If somebody knows the correct path via MCCC, please let me know. Thank you, in advance.

  •  Hi, I alluded to this problem yesterday but failed to ask for help in resolving it.  My new king was busy schmoozing Cordilia Abrantes, trying to get this dynasty aboard as an ally. The interaction never showed up for him to invite her to join.  Later on, when I was looking at the dynasty group, I discovered just what was wrong.  Seems since the king's father is visiting on one of those "stay-over' options, (which also means I cannot control the 'guests' in any way), he has resumed as the Head of the Dynasty! Say what?

Nobody asked me about it! 😢

How on Earth do I undo this and set things back the way they were? Does this require a roll back? I had thought since Erik's sister set her wedding date, that was why suddenly Joseph, Louise and Adrian were needing a place to stay. But they are set to leave on the coming Tuesday, very possibly missing the wedding.  I could roll back to before he arrives, I suppose, and turn him down. But I don't wish to have instability in the Dynasty.

Is this a game-glitch, or a result of some kind of bug? Is there any way to fix this? I'm going nuts, here. I welcome all suggestions.

Please, and thank you, in advance.
