If you lost interest in the game, what did you do to develop interest in it again?

For about the past year and a half, I have been updating every lot and giving every single sim in my game save the correct winter and summer outfits, and a makeover to boot. But now when I attempt to...

I play other games. Sooner or later some aspect will pop up that makes me think "I want to play this out in the Sims!". Maybe a favourite pairing that I want to continue or a profession that would be neat to play or just a building that I want my sims to live in (if it's in the gallery, I hardly ever build myself).

If it's not the sims, but specifically Sims 4 that I'm tired of, I simply go back to Sims 2 for a while.
