Taking a break can usually be the best thing. Give yourself time to step away, enjoy something else, and in time come back to the game fresh. I've stepped away from Sims feeling a bit wore down from it only to come back when a bit of inspiration hits on perhaps a new sim, a new build, or a new challenge.
