Also replaced Castle with Royal Estate as I realize many see a castle as historical. I'm *not* building a medieval thing, but a royal estate of "these days" with more space and formality than my regular homes. My Monarch knows how to use a laptop and doesn't need assistance from staff to download apps to his cellphone :)

I've been playing nobility for a while, and enjoy it. But all these years I n ever had Royals, mostly because I am fine with just thin king of them as a distant institution, besides I don't have any available big lots that would suit a castle. After playing Sims Medieval this Winter I kind of changed my view on implementing a royal household. I already knew a bit about them. but with Sims Medieval's historical aspects I want to explore those royals more thoroughly. Ouch, will this journey never end?
I've still not decided, but I have a plan I am currently considering, and would love some input on.
I think Britechester campus has the right historical vibe for a royal estate. I do play Uni, but my students reside a (residential) dorm at Gibbs Hill. I now wonder if it could work to turn one of the Ubrite dorms into a castle. I know I can only play the top floor, but I assume I can raise wall height and add more floors over it? In my head the size might work for a castle that probably occupied the entire Ubrite hood previously, but at some point in history had a Monarch who was dedicated to education and donated or sold most of the hood for university purposes. I can pretend the content of the castle's first couple floors, and focus more on whatever I build on top floor(s).
My question is whether others did this already? I will still build my own, because I love building, but maybe there are a few restrictions that I should be aware of? If I re-categorize one of those dorm lots to residential, will it work like the Torendi Tower penthouse in San Myshuno? I guess it should not make much of a difference which of the 2 dorms I pick, probably the one farthest away from the students' Commons.
