I can only agree. After 7 years we have 2 well developed lifestates (vampires and spellcasters) and 2 minor lifestates (aliens and mermaids)
I remember the sims 2 days were I eagerly awaited the new occult/supernatural for each EP. And sims 3 also had at least one occult per EP, with of course multiple in the supernatural EP. I wish sims 4 would have continued that tradition. Things like strangerville and paranormal are fun but it is not the same because these are activities for normal sims, not sims with a supernatural/occult identity.
Vampires and spellcasters are well done, but if this is the pace they are coming, then we might never get even all the basic occults before the sims ends. I really want werewolves and proper plantsims.
