Don't get me wrong, I love Laundry Day and lobbied heartily for it, but that was when I was only playing 1-2 sims in a household. Now I'm branching out and I have a vampire nest with 3 adults, 1 teen...

Pretty sure if you have LIttleMsSam's mods installed, when you click and select to do laundry it has you go to each hamper, put them in inventory, and then to the washer to load them all. I know it doesn't mention that in her mod description, but iirc that is what happens. Benefit of it enabling putting the laundry in sim inventory.
Hmm. I just tested it in my game and my sim still only gathered one pile from the selected hamper and another that was on the floor before bringing it to the washing machine (I do have the inventory part of the mod installed.) Could you possibly be thinking of TS3's laundry system? I believe that in that game sims would go around gathering clothes from hampers before throwing it all in the wash.
