I'm having an issue with the storage container that comes with discovery university

Before my sim left her dorm to move into a home, I had put almost all her belongings in the chest, and then put the chest in her personal inventory. She is now living in her new home, and I am trying to remove the items inside the chest, but it won't allow it. It is saying that those things do not belong to her. Normally this would not be an issue because I would just use a money cheat to replace the items, but there are some special pictures that I can't replace. Help.

It's this bug reported here: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Bug-Reports/OPEN-DU-ICYA-Chest-Inventory-Locked-After-Moving/m-p/8442740
Maybe someone posted a workaround in that thread.
  • Or, you could have her (or another sim) move to another lot with the chest, then move out and keeping furniture might unpack the chest and put all items in your sim's household inventory?

I never used the chest. If it could work as a "put furniture in your personal inventory" I'd gladly use it for sims moving out, but I don't want to risk losing stuff...
