Impossible to learn potions from experiment
Its literally impossible for me to learn potions from the cauldron, it takes forever and I have to ask other mages to teach me a potion recipe but it takes the fun out of the game.. I'm level maste...

It seems to be one of those things that is easier if your Spellcaster has a bloodline trait. Faunus has a Weak Bloodline - one parent is a caster - and he seems to get a recipe every 2 out of 3 times he experiments - Virtuoso, all Spellcaster perks unlocked. But I agree it seems maddeningly random and slow, expecially compared to "Research Alchemy" in TS3: Supernatural, where research practically guaranteed a new recipe unlock.
For faster unlocks:
- Once acquainted, the Sages will teach your Sim a potion once per day, provided they have the Spellcaster rank to learn them.
- Search For Tomes is an interaction on bookcases at Magic HQ. Potion tomes are included.
- Duel for Knowledge can teach potion recipes if your Sim wins.
- Remember to check the wands, tomes and familiars shop - the stock changes daily.
How to get Bloodline trait? I'm Virtuoso but still can't learn potions from cauldron I'm sorry it just too boring to wait 5 hours and still not learning anything and asking other mages to teach me potion recipes works but takes the fun out of it :/
