Impossible to learn potions from experiment
Its literally impossible for me to learn potions from the cauldron, it takes forever and I have to ask other mages to teach me a potion recipe but it takes the fun out of the game.. I'm level maste...

I have a husband and wife who are new spellcasters. The wife has the Purveyor of Potions aspiration and the husband has Spellcraft and Sorcery, so I have the wife learning her potions by experimenting on the cauldron while the husband learns his spells by practicing magic. So far the wife is a level 3 Adept but only knows 4 potions while the husband is a level 2 Acolyte who knows 12 spells, 4 from each school of magic.
Experimenting is a fairly slow way to learn potions but it does work. It just takes patience. It probably helps to take the Experimenter and Insightful Eye perks, the wife has both of these.
