I can't help but feel the same amount of disdain for the developers of the game in this present time for the announcement of this Island expansion. A significant portion of the Sims 4 player base has been ignored for five years, and it's continuing to seem that way. They had every opportunity to release a magic expansion, and refused to do so until what seems like the very end of the series for the Sims 4.
They did the same with the previous incarnations of the Sims, and it's disrespectful to the portion of the players who would like to be put just a little higher on the priority list. It's that disrespect that is informing me not to invest money into any other future incarnations of this game, and settle for the final product of Sims 4.
If you think there hasn't been a demand for the magic pack, or want to ridicule players for wanting it prior to more tropical BS retreats. Then you're pretty condescending as a human over something that as a consumer base all appreciate. Some of us have stuck with this franchise since the first Sims game. A large portion of our lives have been spent enjoying this game, as we've also grown up with it.
But it's formula for delivery on content is starting to fail consumers. Seasonally it does make sense for this pack to be put first, but that's the only catch that keeps it relevant to the line of releases. But the Sims 4 has had four chances to provide a magic pack for those who have literally been asking for only that for a long while now.
An apology should be issued for making players feel this way. Even if it wasn't intentional, the acknowledgement would probably keep customers around.
