Infants needs dropping too fast!

Anyone else noticing infants needs dropping too fast? They just ate and had a bath and still drops too fast?

Not sure if it’s a bug or how it’s intended it to be?

Like the three red arrows start decaying too fast even if you just took care of all needs??

  • I think the needs decay too quickly too. The dirty nappies and bottles left all over the place, like the drinking glass bug, is annoying, I need my sims to clean all that up without me having to get on them every single time. The dirty nappies are definitely hard to see on the rug.
I guess some of it comes down to the difference between super realism players and realism lite players, I don't want my sims game to feel like work, I'm playing to relax and have fun.
  • Yeah also toddlers being sad all the time because of a dirty diaper or something :unamused:
  • I found a mod to slow them down a little. i still like that it's hard though.

I think its intentional because they’re meant to be a lot of work but… I don’t know its almost a but too much. Like I genuinely can’t picture raising twins like this. After my first infant I waited until he aged into a teen to have a second child because the infant stage is so much work.

Before Infants came into being Erik and Kayleigh had their six kids boom, boom, and boom. I decided, since I managed to lose that backed up save, to restart in time for Infants to drop. I made the conscious decision to wait on the second child (which was twins, naturally in that original save) and would be again, since I wanted to recreated the save than went kablooey on me back in March 2020. It's been a long road. But I digress. I wanted to see just what I was in for with Infants. Yes, it is work, but I found out that for me anyway, it was just the uncertainty up front. Once Jamison was a few days from aging up, I got the twins going. IE, I had the parents Try for Baby, and used some MCCC magic to ensure they were identical twin girls. Both of Erik's brothers moved out and Erik hired a Butler to help out. Miha was a godsend. The young parents were nearly in over their heads! But although all three of these kids achieved the Top Notch Infant, neither of the girls learned to crawl. :open_mouth: Boy, was I bummed, too. With each baby after that, I relaxed more and more and looked forward to helping the wee ones learn their skills. It really did get easier the more babies the couple had. The only thing is my parents were reaching burnout. I would que up interactions and one or the other would just stand there and do nothing. Had they a finger up their nose it would have been perfect, because that's what it felt like to me, that they were doing. LOL

The fact that the Infants lose their needs so quickly is very much like RL. In fact, in a silly game such as Sims, this is about the only point in reality I think I've seen, thus far. I confess, I used the Needs Cheat on the wee ones a couple of times. One of them was so listless, I was afraid he wouldn't learn to do anything at all. Yeah, it was that bad.
  • For a game, I'd rather skip straight to the cooing, giggling, wiggly stage. I'm a good parent. I am!
