I play free play sometimes. It has more features because it has been out longer. Free play did add cars, and horses, and a subway, and hobbies with collections, but like Sims 3 it has rabbitholes. It also has active career for the movie studio instead of the active scientist or doctor. Apparently open world is not possible without either online servers to support larger maps, or rabbitholes. Also like Sims 3 store, Sims free play is full of microtransactions.
