Especially with the whole Youtuber vibe from the new media editing skill, it would've been great to replicate internet stars like the Grumpy Cat or cinema sensations like Lassie with your pets (just as I felt it would've been nice to involve dogs in the detective career and cats in the doctor career too). As of now with what it offers, Get Famous feels more in the league of Vampires and Jungle Adventures, both of which are less expensive Game Packs. Involving other life stages would've made this more 'Expansion Pack' than it turned out to be. A real pity.
Edit: Would've also been nice to see some apartment in the new world, but I realize City Living would lose much of its own appeal if they did so. Oh well.
Of course you could say they missed a great opportunity but you forget about the fact that not everyone who will buy Get Famous also owns Cats & Dogs. The ones without C&D would say "Why should I pay as much as the ones with the pack when I can't use an important part of the pack?"
I agree with you on the acting career "issue" with kids and teens. However, whenever I think of child stars who became famous via acting, I think about Kallie McCulkin :# It's just my personal opinion and it's really ok if you want your sim teens and kids to be actors but for me, kids should be kids playing and not working. Same for teens but they can have a little side job like the teen careers there are already in the game.
Maybe you know more about it than me but does it say anywhere that kids and teens can't use the media editing thing? I've only watched one video about this and the simmer only played with two young adults. So I really don't know.
