I'm not sure if this is a real issue or if I'm just dumb. I was trying to celebrate winterfest and I wanted to invite over the family of my sim. I was afraid that creating a dinner party would overlap...

I had a dinner party during New Year's Eve. It went fine, the only thing is that you have to have the party without goals. It wont even let you make an event with goals during a holiday.
Really I couldn't have a party at all maybe because I had invite guest as a holiday tradition for my Halloween party let's see how Thanksgiving goes.
