Is anyone else often annoyed by the game's animations?

I really dislike the cooking animations. I know they did it to make cooking more interesting but I can't stand how long it takes to do all the tricks when my sim is high up in the skill. I don't mind the animations when their bad at cooking but I don't understand why any sim that's not a chef would do all the tricky animations.
