I think when they gave us the choices, they had/have all the animations at the ready. They could implement any of those options from the polls at any time. I think we'll see some of the non-winning options appear in the future in other packs. I don't think it's any kind of weird coincidence. They know what they can and can't animate, they may not all be polished and ready to go, but I think most of the work is largely done or else the options wouldn't have been in a poll for a pack due to come in within the year. It's just a matter of when they will release the rest of it.
@Camkat Yeah I think one would guess that we'd pick arts and crafts but did they also guess we were going to pick knitting?
They had 5 themes with 5 subthemes each. That would make at least 25 animations. I doubt they would make 25 animations without knowing which one would be the most popular one in the first place. And I don't think the themes that placed below 2nd-3rd place will be made into packs.
But yeah if they do prepare ahead when doing votes like that then I would imagine they had all of the other 24 animations ready as well? I doubt it.
Yeah... I completely disagree. 24 animations aren't that many to be ready. ;) They might not have been all polished but they're probably ready. Some are/were probably planned as a reuse of another already completed animation as well, so they might not be completely new either. I just really doubt they wouldn't have had plans since it would look really terrible on them if we'd voted on something and they suddenly couldn't do it.

But if some of them end up going to waste does it not bother them? If knitting wasn't picked and was last place it would have been wasted. Would the Sims team really blindly make animations like that?
But yeah I hear you. What you're saying is very possible.
It's not wasted though if did something like they did with the university prank. It's just that in this case the knitting came first here. I think the other animations will show up too. I can't remember what all the things were that we voted on but I'm sure that they had plans for some of them to even be reused animations of things we already have. They do seem to like to do that...
Well happy haunts will definitely come. But do you think the other fitness or that science thing will come too? They were like last place.
And also if everything ends up getting implemented into the game why do we vote in the first place?
