Yesterday, I wrote: "After reading this thread, I checked out a few mods that might help. I know not everyone wants to use mods or can't, but I thought I'd share 3 mods that look good. I'll be trying them in a test save and will report back."
I installed the 3 mods I'd mentioned. I then started a new save and had my sim adopt 3 kids: toddler, infant, and baby. I played for a while, and it was wild! The action never stopped long enough for me to quit the game. 😆
It all ran smoothly as far as effective care and need levels. Everyone one's needs stayed in the green, with a couple of brief yellow bars. However, the whole time was devoted to parenting. 🤪
Next time I play, I'll test the new daycare mod with my sims leaving the lot and sending the kids to daycare. I'll also hire a nanny and have my sim leave the kids with the caregiver.
Also, I still have to take these kids into CAS to give them new outfits!

If I ever use mods again I am going to have to check out the ones you recommend. My main gripe about it is because of both parents and the butler all headed to attend to the child and this locks them up and nobody does anything. They stand there like they all went blank and the only way to fix it is to cancel the parents trying to tend to their child and then the butler will do it. I even fired the butler once because this was making me crazy but it still ended up the same between the parents and their teenage kids. EA needs to put some check in place so that if someone is going to attend to a child it cancels everyone else trying to do so. I wouldn't say that if it wasn't truly a nightmare. The baby would starve while they all just stood there because everyone is trying to tend to the baby. Then I got the bright idea when I fired the butler to try bringing in a nanny and that did not end well.
I ended up locking her in the backyard for days because I was so mad that she wouldn't go away. I didn't have the heart to kill her because she had kids. Finally I just used mccc to make her quit her job and then I let her go. No more babies for my sims for a while!!

I got tired of it too. I can't call this a work around cause it's not. 😜 It's my play around!!!! 🤣 So I created 2 sims in a household who are my nannies. As dumb as it seems - their last names are Nanny! I literally move them out of the household they are in and move them into the household I am playing- if I need them and sometimes it's only 1 of them. They maintain that nanny role while the parents are away or extremely busy with another child; thus I have full control and no jam-up's. I move those 2 around my game a lot, where I need them! All of my 'parents' have careers. I am bad, everyone works. The nannies are 100% live-in tho!
However, I am controlling and try to make my sims (the household I am playing) to "do the right thing" all the time. I do not try to control the infants and toddlers, however, I will force a caregiver or family member to do the right thing! It's just how I play tho.

But wouldn't adding two sims to the household just make the problem worse? More people reacting to a child needing tending? Because that is the WHOLE problem for me in my experience. Every single time if I see one just standing there, like the butler standing by the crib doing nothing, I know I have to toggle around the other sims and cancel any "check on infant", "pick up infant" or anything. Just anything like that has to be cancelled so that it "unfreezes" them all so to speak. Since I can't control a butler that has been the only way to do it. I am playing in a clean game without mods right now due to an issue and I can promise you I simply cannot even think of having a baby in any of my households without my mods because I might lose my mind lol. I am interested to hear more on your method and how you make it work.
