You can narrate your story in the past or present tense but if you are making a script for a film the dialogue format is different than a book story. You would write the scene description and then the character name in front of whatever dialogue you come up with.
BLUE VELVET NIGHTCLUB - NIGHT
We see a group of friends standing outside the Blue Velvet nightclub. They are excited and ready for a fun night out.
ASHLEY
Come on, let's go in!
PAUL
Don't worry bro, I got you covered for drinks.
NARRATOR
I hope the drinks are cheap! I don't have a lot of money to spend.
