Is it possible to make my own butler?

I have tried to make some reaserch on this topic, but I don't seem to find an answer clear enough. So I thought to just ask here, maybe someone has the information I'm looking for 😊

So is it possible to make a sim and turn them a butler? With codes? MCCC? Adding specific hidden traits? I know there are some other NPC roles you can give to unplayed sims this way, but is butler one of them? I have an interesting story in my mind but that demands a butler of my own choice... 😛

I know I can hire a butler and then take them to fulleditmode in CAS, but this time I would prefer turning my already existing sim into a butler.

  • Ive been interested in doing this, I read the tutorial but what do you do after you have deleted the other sims in the household? How do I move the new butler to my sims house but keep him as a NPC - sorry I havent really used NPC's before in active households

You don't move them, you hire them. When you use the hire service option, the game picks a NPC with specific traits for those roles, once you assign those traits to your NPC the game will pick them, that's why you need to delete the previously existing so that the NPC you created with these cheats will have priority. Hope this makes sense.

I do this to make sure I get the appropriate sims for service roles. I create sims and give them max skills in cooking, gourmet cooking, and baking, mixology, charisma, handiness, wellness. I give them traits related to a specific skill. I then move them to not in world. Most of the time my created sims shows up as cooks, bartenders, maids, butlers, etc.

I don't think so. A sim without a job might do the trick. It is not only about skills but also about personality, though. Make a neat sim for cleaning.

When a butler is made playable, he or she is not a butler anymore, by the way, but is replaced by another butler. I tried once I got tired of the fact that a butler was hired but never seemed to get paid.

Yes, a playable sim can't have a NPC role and NPCs will loose their role if you start to play with them. But in this case I don't want to play as a butler, I want to hire a butler to my other sim and I'm looking for a way to pick a sertain (unplayed) sim to be my butler. I know the butler will loose their role as soon as they become played, but I'm okay with that ?
  • What I've done personally is, after hiring a butler, I went into manage households (with cas.fulleditmode), and just remade them from there. I didn't change their traits as doing so with the cheat can cause problems (only use the re-traiting potion). But it worked! Every time I've gone back to that household with the edited butler, she's been there just as I remade her.

You can do that thing where you give sims the hidden role, but I just found this easier... I remake a lot of random generated sims this way since I hate how 99% of them look.
  • If you don't mind playing the 'role' of butler yourself, IE controlling your created hand-selected Sim to do things the butler would normally do. I used to add a live-in Nanny of my own creation. Didn't matter to me that she wasn't an NPC. I had full control. Sometimes, the Butler will go into overdrive when it comes to cooking. And they will leave for a day or more making you think they have quit or something. The Agency is good to send over a substitute to fill in — except when that substitute Butler has the Evil trait, and that's why you fired her to begin with. :open_mouth

Yes, this is my plan B! But I hope the hidden traits thingy would work, since I hope I'll find a suitable sim from the Gallery and then could use them as my butler ? I'm not that fast with CAS and I guess only slight make over might not be enough ? But we'll see ?

Hmmh, this is something I didn't thought at all ? But I have never had a butler before so I think I prefer testing it as a NPC first but if it doesn't work (or the butler misbehaves xD ) I could do it this way. But I could use this idea to something else later, thanks for the tip! ?
