Is it safe for me to turn on uncompressed sim textures?

It wasn't checked my default when I started the game but graphics settings were on ultra. I haven't noticed lag yet but I'm worried it might mess up my comp if I leave it on? Like could it cause it ...

the game auto defaulted the game to ultra, it just didn't check the uncompressed sim texture option on its own but i don't know if it's supposed to?
