Is my game frozen or just...doing its thang?

Just kill it.

Try pausing. Then go through each Sim and see what's in their que. There may be two Sims actions that are interfering with each other, thus freezing the game. I had this happen a couple times. Then again, saving and exiting to Manage Worlds may fix it.

@SomeBratInAMask It never takes more than a few minutes for me when I place a house onto a lot. The few times it has taken longer, like what you are experiencing, it has been a hung game and the only recovery option was to kill the process and restart the game. For me that only happens when placing multi-story apartments in San Myshuno, but yah...I feel your pain.

Alright, I killed the game. It wasn't allowing me to pause anyway.

Call me a glutton for punishment, but I'm gonna try to place that lot again.

Hahah. Did you try to place the lot from manage worlds screen or on the lot itself? Cuz sometimes doing it from the manage worlds can cause serious lag.

Have to second what @DeKay just said, I learned to always go into the lot first, bulldoze, then place a new lot...it's less likely to lag-out doing it that way. (think the bulldoze is perhaps redundant...but I read somewhere that I should do it and at this point it's muscle-memory and I don't even think about it).

Hm, I placed new lot when I was on play mode (not from manage worlds), BUT I didn't bulldoze the current lot. So I will try that.

It's a shame tho cuz the feature to put in from manage world is really good and time saving! But it does lag with bigger lots and I have a pretty good computer. :D

I have a pretty great gaming laptop and my game still takes a minute or so to place bigger buildings in manage worlds. smh
