Is Newcrest inspired by a real place?

I've always thought that they just threw Newcrest together quickly for us to answer requests for another world when the game was months old and people were feeling very crammed in. There'd been a lot of requests for a blank world Sims 2-style, too, plus they didn't use resources to build and just kept it free. IIRC there was something to do with the neighbourhoods themselves that someone said back then showed reused assets from one of the other worlds? I think if it had been based on anything real-world they'd have put effort into building in it.

No, it's a slight copy paste of WC with some new backdrops and props.

Newcrest was "inspired" by players who said there wasn't enough space for them to build and wanted an empty neighborhood to construct on. ;) It looks a lot like Willow Creek, so I think they probably kept the same New Orleans theme for scenery. Magnolia Promenade has that same sort of feel to it.

It's inspired by... Willow Creek. Seriously no joke, all they did was copy pre-existing neighbourhoods and edit and tweak several things, mainly the backgrounds, and ta-da! Newcrest was born. I would show you pictures of it, but unfortunately I haven't posted enough to be given the luxury of posting links :'(. But if you look at the lot that the Goths live on you will see the same road as a neighbourhood in New Crest, this is basically what they did for every other neighbourhood, I think I also noticed that some were copies of Oasis Springs neighbourhoods too.

Sorry if this doesn't make sense! It did before when I included pictures, but I'm not allowed. But I hope I cleared some stuff up for you :smiley:

PS: I don't want to sound like I'm bashing the producers for being lazy by copying Willow Creek, I'm not at all and I don't mean for it to sound like that, I really appreciate them for taking the time to give us a new world/empty lots. :smiley:

Absolutely. It was a quick and dirty solution to something we really needed at the time. We'd have had another half-year wait for a new world.

I have no clue why they don't just give us CAW already. If they can do it, then obviously we can too. They must think we will find it too hard to make worlds, but i'm like "bitch plz, if you can do it, we can do it 10x better".

I know it was piecemealed together from the other neighborhoods, but I don't care as long as I had more lots to build on! I think it is time they give us a new one. I'm out of empty lots, again!

I have no idea where any of those pictures were taken, but Newcrest seems a bit too empty to be based on somewhere specific.

Because the Sims 3 worlds were simplistic. They were built using easy tools.

The Sims 4 worlds are built from the ground up. Unless you have background in game development, you won't be able to.

The Sims 4 worlds are built like GTA worlds but on a smaller scale. They don't use a tool, they build from the ground up.
