Sadly we live in an age where people (especially young people) are more impatient and have shorter attention spans so apps are preffered over going through the process of buying and downloading a game.
No PC gaming isn't dead at all. If you look at the many amazing games coming out each year, it's clear it's alive and well. Same for consoles. But if companies like EA try to push mobile over real gaming, I guess the only thing that will die are the franchises they took.
