is there a way to...

find out why your townie sim is sad? A friend came over to my sims house and he went right into the closet to start crying and then I had interactions to "cheer him up". How can i know why?

  • I think the only way might be to add him temporarily to your household, because I do not know of any other way than checking moodlets. If they are there at all when you include the sim, they might tell you what happened. But - when "removing from household" that sim will not return to previous household but probably start a new household or not be in a world at all. Sounds like a sim you'd like to keep, so you might need to reaarange stuff in "manage households"...

Keep in mind that the game might add random stuff to NPCs, so there might be no backstory at all for the sadness.

I never tried checking details like this myself. Will be interesting seeing what you find, if anything :)
  • Do you have UI cheats or MC Command Center? I have both and with one of them I can shift click a sim to see and remove their moodlets. Pretty sure it's UI cheats.

    ok thanks! will try that
  • I think when they come over, they come over in a random mood.
Anytime my sims have a party or event of any kind, all the guests are in different moods.

Many of my more social sims will have either a mirror near the door, or a private closet somewhere with a mirror so that NPC sim guests who are angry, tense, or embarrassed can go calm themselves down on their own when they arrive XD

dont mean to change the topic here but since i cant make my own topic yet i'll ask my question here

is there anyway to make my sims wear school uniforms when going to school other then forcing them to live in the mount komorebi area?

You could save your game then take the townie’s household into manage households. It’s possible the townie could have the gloomy trait. Gloomy sims get sadness randomly. Or it could have to do with sentiments or lifestyles too influencing moodlets. If you take them into manage households to check and they are unplayed sims, don’t forget to put them back into the unplayed category. Also if they are a good sim and are around an evil sim that can cause sadness too. I don’t know if mean causes sadness to a good sim, but it might. If a family sim goes too long without being around family, I think that can cause sadness too.

@ryouma17 if you have higher school years you can dress a high schooler you are playing in a school uniform. You may want to put the school uniform in other categories as well, like cold and/or hot weather, as they may automatically change to one of those categories.

I’m not sure, but you might be able to find the school outfit for children in CAS too.
