Oh, there is one other thing that you could do until your mod is fixed that would be a little bit of a pain, but might be worth it if you are feeling very sensitive to this issue: you could scan the neighborhood for any elder wildlife, and then delete them via household management, if that would be less stressful than watching them go through the whole grim reaper scene.
