Is there an issue with TSR today?

Or is it just me?

I can't download a single CC item from The Sims Resource today, I get the message "invalid download key" every single time. I've never seen this message before today.

  • Has the problem fixed itself, yet? I'm able to download things as of now.
    The only time I have that message come up is when I accidently have two items downloading at once.
  • @Missmagoo2 - yeah I worked it out, for some reason it defaulted to giving me a free trial of VIP membership, and suddenly I had to click on "add to basket" (and download from there) instead of just hitting the download button.

    I figured I didn't even want the free VIP trial, but I couldn't work out how to turn it off! Oh well, now that I've worked out how to do it, it's okay. I won't be signing up for VIP though when the free trial runs out.

    I know some sites automatically roll over the trial into a full account and charge your card without a reminder, so make sure it gets cancelled before it's over! I've had that happen on another site before... :|
  • Thanks @Missmagoo2 - I've noticed some sites do that. In fact, one site recently attempted to do it to my husband.

    Luckily, they don't have my card details, but I will be double checking anyway.
  • Yeah I would recommend using an adblocker with there, never trust a download site that requires you to turn off ads to download because that is just welcoming viruses. Just a tip for someone who has been obsessed with the mod communities since TS2 modthesims2 days.
  • @Scobre interestingly I did always have the ad blocker on previously, but I VERY recently bought a new PC after my old one died (and it was very old). So I had not actually reinstalled the ad blocker yet.
