Is there any gameplay value to a museum?
I have been checking out my EA-placed museums, and they just seem to have a few paintings and sculptures that you can "view". Is there some advantage to having them or visiting them? Has anyone done...

I usually remove all the museums and libraries from my game and replace them with a restaurants, nightclubs, shops and other venue types introduced in DLC. (Minus the StrangerVille one which is required to be a library, ofc)
I then tend to renovate the park in Willow Creak. I make the lot type a museum (as if your sim is doing the Painter Extraordinaire aspiration, you'll need at least one museum in a world to visit to complete it), but use half the lot as a museum and library building. In the outdoor space in front of that, I'll make it have everything that's usually in a park, and also add a community pool there. It means I'll use the lot considerably more, as there's just more to do.
