Is there any purpose to the color likes and dislikes?

My decorator Sim just did a job for a family that loves yellow (incidentally, all of the Sims who have expressed randomised colour preferences in my game seem to love yellow) and during the reveal, they looked at the yellow objects and had a thought bubble with a yellow colour swatch and a thumbs up over their heads. That's the only time I've seen any reaction to colours so far.
