Hello, I'm a new member so apologies for jumping on this discussion - I'm unable to create my own just yet. Similar to the original question I'm looking for a good laptop to run The Sims 4.
I'm looking at the HP Pavilion 15-cs1506sa. Please can somebody advise regarding the specs:
Processor - Intel® Core™ i7-8565U Processor
- Quad-core
- 1.8 GHz / 4.6 GHz
- 8 MB cache
RAM 8 GB DDR4
Graphics card - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
- 4 GB GDDR5
Storage 256 GB SSD
Thanks in advance!
Expanding on Cynna post, I agree 256 GB by todays standards is kind of small and more than likely that drive would be used to house the OS as well and unless the drive is much larger than 256 I do not install huge programs that will eat up the space that Windows need to expand and if Windows can't expand it will cause an lot of headache. So I too hope there is an secondary drive and if not put one in as drives are cheap now and depending on the size of the SSDs certain sizes can be brought cheap. However, keep in mind when it comes to maintenance some of the maintenance tasks are not the same as traditional HDs such as defrag(Never defrag an SSD or do not constantly erase or rewrite to an SSD, as it shortens its life). One more thing Other than size SSDs do come in different flavors on the technical side and the technical side may be better than the other. I would read up on them to understand them.
