The logo, cover art etc. are all the same as the Sims 4 but since this can only be done in the Sims 3 they just didn't clarify which game they are talking about. You have to be really really careful when seeing this advertisement because though it is in itself supposed to advertise the Sims series as a whole, it focuses on using the Sims 4 as the cover while naming features from previous games.

I would say yes it is. I mean for somebody that isn't familiar with the game they might be fully expecting actual unicorns.

Not sure how this is "creative license." I think there at least needs to be some truth in the advertising.
Saying that there are unicorns in the game is flat out wrong.

LOL when they find out The Sims 4 doesn't have unicorns, and then realize they have to buy the Sims 3 :D :D

Yup it does, but IIRC you can't create them in CAS and they are nasty, vicious brutes and normally not more than one per world. I suppose if you managed to catch one, one in a paddock could count as "a paddock full". And do they even breed true? I never bothered to try.

Where does it direct you to when clicking the 'Buy Now' button? Does it give you only the option to buy TS4 or all the other titles still available in the series?

The neutrality is interesting, though. All of these years of pushing Sims 4 and now suddenly they're pushing the series as a whole? It might make sense if we were able to play Sims 1 and 2 without troubleshooting Windows. My first instinct is that it's disingenuous. They also have other ads that advertise living underwater. It's like instead of making these things possible in Sims 4, they're looking at what Sims 3 could do and promoting that but just removing the "4" to insinuate these are things you can play in the current game.

I feel like it's misleading, even though Sims 3 is still available. It could make someone look up The Sims, most likely come across Sims 4 (which is usually pretty inexpensive and at the forefront of their marketing,) then they buy it, thinking these are things they can do in the game, only to find out they can't, that they'd have to go buy the older iteration to get the actual gameplay advertised. And even then, you still can't play the way they insinuate in the ads.

That kind of misdirection is rather shady, EA. Gross.
