Given the image is the sims 4 logo, I would say it absolutely should be considered false advertising. I'm not a lawyer and have no idea if it would actually pass muster in court if claimed as such, but given that the image is associated with buying the sims 4 and there is no disclaimer in it, it seems like a problem to me. It would be extremely easy for someone who has seen the sims 4 logo before to assume it means the sims 4 when it doesn't.
If it's not illegal, it should be and frankly, I'm kind of disgusted with the whole affair (relating to this and the other thread about the video ads) that the best they can do to represent their game(s) is to mislead people. If they can't draw people in with actual content that exists in the game(s) years and years of added content and updates in, that just makes me wonder why I'm even playing their game in the first place. In other words, I feel like in a sense it validates all of the complaining about the game because it makes it look like the game has nothing interesting to offer on its own merits. So it's a kind of self-own of their own product.
