Is this false advertising?

Not just the create a world part, because it can mean: delete the lots on the pre-existing worlds to kind of make your own version of it. It's the paddock full of unicorns thing that's super inaccurate.

EDIT!: Oh guys no, sorry I just realized they tried to evade the whole "false advertising" thing by removing the 4 from "The Sims" in the title. I just noticed! The logo, cover art etc. are all the same as the Sims 4 but since this can only be done in the Sims 3 they just didn't clarify which game they are talking about.

You have to be really really careful when seeing this advertisement because though it is in itself supposed to advertise the Sims series as a whole, it focuses on using the Sims 4 as the cover while naming features from previous games.

That is why I find it bizzare that people are angry and bashing at this. The marketing aims to show the idea of what the game is all about, not showcase the gameplay of the game. Gameplay trailers, and "Idea" trailers like these are different.

Just compare how Get Famous Launch trailer is different from the actual gameplay trailer. The gameplay trailer shows you how your sim can be famous and how mechanics works, but the launch trailers shows you the idea of becoming famous by becoming an actor/actress, which is what the expansion pack is all about.

@TS1299 I get what you mean and this is how I see it too. But with this ad, the difference is it actually confirms that "Yes, if you buy this game you can have unicorns in a field". The trailers you mentioned are all meant to show the basic idea and though the features they show don't work the exact way as shown, these features still exist.
The problem with this ad is that it states that having unicorns is absolutely possible in the game so you should go ahead and buy it. That's outright false and there is no disclaimer that says (oh you actually can't do that in the game)

Yeah. I was mainly talking about the video anyway. Now the Marketing they did used on the page about unicorns is really different. That is a true false advertising.

@TS1299 My stance on the videos are different, this is why I only posted this small ad. The videos are a different story and at least in my eyes not as bad as this ad.

It's called 'creative license' . All advertisers use it in one way or another.

    'Creative lie sense'.
