Island Culture

Well we have the "Kava Welcome Wagon"/Kava Party and the cooking pit with kalua pork (and fire dance, but i'll get to that). But wouldn't it be nice if there was more that feels like the traditions and culture from "the islands"?

Sims be able to learn hula and fire dance from Sulani locals like in Selvadorada would be awesome. Drums (looking like the new barstool;) ) and Ukulele playing would be nice too. A missed opportunity is also the Luau as a new party-event type. A local greeting would be giving Leis (those flower necklaces) to other sims - doing a Haka would be hilarious.

Also Ancestor Totems where you can sacrifice food or flowers to get buffs...or influence weather or volcanos and earthquakes... the spirits just don't feel the same.

If we can't get surfboards then maybe a buymode activity set like in the sims 3 where you can hold contests, including a surfing skill.

I could go on and on and on, but thats enough for now. Let me hear what you think of it.

I didn't find the culture either. The ancestors keep sending me messages if I want to go to geek con with them :)

Have nothing constructive to add here but man did I laugh at this!
  • I definitely agree that there ought to be drums! That bongo bar stool is just a mean tease. But I suppose a new musical instrument is one of the more time consuming and costly objects to make (or else we would already have the full drum kit, electric guitar and bass guitar from previous games back).

I wouldn’t mind having the limbo dance or the walk across hot coals activities back as well.
  • Love the ideas OP. Sure would have been nice if they had actually added a culture to Sulani - it is basically just food and drink. What is it about this game that so much seems to be about food and drink? I was at least hoping for a new dance, like you get in Selvadorada.
