Agree to disagree then. During the Sims 3 days there was NEVER this much disappointment about releases. I think the Katy Perry sweet treats was one most people disliked the most. If you look at reviews for the Sims 3 packs (LGR, among others) you'll see more positive things. Simply because there was more to be done in those games.
I'd argue shallow isn't what you make it, but shallow is a matter of what you can do with the tools/objects and things supplied and for the Sims 4 that's significantly less.
