Island Living is perfect... if you are playing out the Under The Sea song as a way to live.

Seriously, I love the pack, but the world and gameplay seriously lends itself best for a Sim(s) that's basically following Sebastian's advice.
My mermaid couple has not even bothered listing with the Chamber of Commerce, they just make a living (and are rich!) by selling (climate neutral organic healthy rawfood) moonshine, diving for treasure and sunbathing all days.

Which basically is my dream life. Not being lazy, but being able to be lazy whenever I want. In Hawaii.

Also, the "I saw a Shark" emotional buff is hillarious if you are a Child Of The Ocean: It's a happy buff that reads "(something something) What a silly little sharkie!" (from memory, so not exact).

  • It's easily my favourite game pack and I haven't even seen a mermaid as I've never tried them yet haha!

I love living in Sulani with my sims <3

Now I am going to place a few rentals there so that my Mt Komorebi-sims can go there a bit as well.
  • I like the odd jobs system that came with IL. It's great for my independent living teens; they can make money to live without having to take an actual part-time job. I'd forgotten how beautiful Sulani is until I had my Sim take an odd job where he had to go to Sulani and dive for treasure. Now I'm not sure if I want to move him and his fiancee to Sulani or to Mt. Komorebi.
  • I enjoy Sulani, I bought it on sale, but I was hyped for mermaids,
I still enjoy it, but I wish we could do so much more with mermaids, especially since we could have game exclusive to them. They could have normal sims enjoy Sulani and what it had to offer, and then give mermaids the chance, and be the only ones, to travel underwater. I don't like having a rabbit hole when I send the mermaid diving.
Despite the lack of game play for mermaids, Sulani is probably one of my favorite worlds that the game has to offer.
I like realm of magic, but I wish there was more stuff to do with that world. Sulani kind of outranks it, since we have more stuff to do overall.
  • This pack would be my favorite occult if the sirens were any sort of threat. Decided to try the ocean threat, siren call and night requiem since I've never done them before. I did all those interactions probably over five times on an elder sim, in the middle of the ocean for two sim days straight. Nothing happened. A mermaid who has repeated drained his needs and have him swim out in the ocean. Considering how bare bones mermaids are at least up the chances of a sim drowning with these interactions. And why does he keep having a calm conversation with when the sim tried to drown him? Please update the ocean threat and siren call interactions. And why can't mermaids use the deck ladders? But it is one of my favorite worlds.
  • It’s one of my favorite worlds, and I love the sims in it, but it could be so much more if the mermaids got their own lot to explore or more to do I’m also sad that kids and toddlers can’t be mermaids... Also sort of wish we had a life time want for sims who are or want to become mermaids... You can make them look however you want but they are all basically the same.

I do love that the neighborhoods seem to be more connected and the island living, especially once we make the world clean again!

I also finally felt inspired to make my own sims for that world again, I had fun for months!

I might pick up sims 4 again and play that world but I’m on a sims break, I don’t want to download and fix my sims 2 game with mods because while that is fun it takes forever to do, and I won’t even go into sims 3 right now. (I’m also wanting to get sims 1 on my computer... Somehow.

(I’m either looking forward to or dreading the sims 5... Save us Will Wright)

This just happened tonight. Elderly sims can die from Siren's Song. It's not a guarantee because if they are close enough to shore they can swim to safety even as they're struggling.
