Did you go down to the basement level? That is where the actual living quarters is at, the ship itself is not where they live at, but below it.

I tried to but my sim couldn't go inside the area to the basement, I also couldn't go down to the basement in Live mode but I could in Build mode

I changed that lot by making it a nightclub and putting a vacation house on the second basement floor before playing the lot, but I haven’t had any problems with it. You could try uploading it to your library and then demolishing it and putting it back and see if that works. You didn’t remove the stairs or anything did you?
