That when the weather is hot your sims are uncomfortably hot when they're in their underwear, but feel much better when they put more clothes on? Makes sense, yeah? "Oh, no, I can't stand the heat, better put a dress on! Ahh, much better". Sims logic, ladies and gentlemen!
Being in your smalls doesn't help when it comes to sweating and you need something to absorb the sweat as well rather than have it trickle down your sides like a waterfall. an hour later and your armpits are so sweaty and starting to smell that it would be a sweet relief to clean the area up after lifting the arms up to check, not to mention your seat and the smalls you are wearirng are starting to get drenched in sweat.
Not sure anyone would be comfortable under such a condition.
You do have a point of course, still not convinced that putting on more helps though. xD Actually, I think fans as an alternative to those thermostats would be nice. :)
even wearing something light and small can be helpful in reducing the effect of the armpit and absorb sweat. so long as the top can breathe, it should be fine for warm days. you wouldn't be wearing anything really different than if you were wearing smalls anyway, even if it covers a little more skin most of it is still on display.
Desktop fans running in warm air can actually be detrminetal if they aren't powerful enough to push the warm air out. otherwise you'd end up with warm and cold air clashing on your body and start getting a headache from it. a proper ventilation system with a nice airflow stream through the house would probably be better to cool it all down. but those types of cooling solutions in the house will be costly.
