Hi my lovelies! So I'm having an issue with changing my sims traits. First off, I'm not a newbie when it comes to playing the sims. I'm good with cheats and what not. I know you can put in testingcheats true, add cas.fulleditmode, and then click the sim and go to modify. However, my circumstance is a little different that doesn't allow me to modify my sim in the fashion. I have a mod in my game that allows me to have more than eight sims in a household. So if I go to modify them normally, it deletes some of my house members. So, I'm trying to find a way to remove a personal trait that doesn't require going into CAS.Also, by personal traits I mean things such as creative, foodie, cheerful, etc.I've tried using the traits.remove_trait and then adding creative to the end of it, but it doesn't remove the trait. So...am I doing something wrong? If so what can I do?Any help would be so much appreciated. :blush:

Thanks, you guys. I appreciate the help so, so much! I'll keep all of these things in mind for future reference. Hopefully, I won't have any further issues, but you never know. I've never really liked playing modded Sims because there is the potential for disaster whilst playing, but for the story I'm working on I needed to have a lot of sims in my home. :/ All of your suggestions have definitely given me easy ways to fix my problem though. I had the same problem with the creativity trait not being removed. "Creativelygifted" is a different trait than "creative". But the cheat traits.clear_traits helped me fix the issue. Thanks! However I then encountered a bug where my sim's needs all totally disappeared! She was perpetually stuck in one mood with no bars to measure her needs. I was able to fix it by just loading her in cas and then returning to the game.

Okay, so I found the traits.clear_traits and this has removed them all. I'll just have to add the old traits back in with the new one that I wanted. :/ Is there a better way of doing this, though. I was able to remove the cheerful trait, but it wouldn't remove the creative cheat which is the one I wanted to remove. :(

It might be that Creative needs a different name in the cheats? It's not one I've needed to remove before, so can't attest to that myself.

That might be it. I've tried looking to see if the creative trait went by a different name, but it's always just listed at Creative. I'm not sure, though. I've removed at this point anyways by clearing all traits, it's just a pain in the butt because I had to remove all and then add them all back except for the Creative trait. I am sorry that you had issues removing the creative trait. These are lists of the names of the traits that may help another time. The creative trait should have been able to have been removed using the cheat, unless it perhaps has a different name? .

I have that mod. I usually switch to playing a smaller household, then visit the initial larger household and shift+click, add to family on the sim I want to change. Then modify that sim in CAS. Switch back to playing the original household, shift+click, add to family to get him/her back. You just have to go through a few loading screens, but that's easier for me.

There's an easy way to remove traits (and add them) with the Enable Debug Cheats mod. That's what I use, since I know that the cheat doesn't always work with certain traits.
