- Fluteline247 years agoSeasoned AceThis is going to sound strange, but in one of my saves, I actually have to ban urns. There's one sim in the save that will constantly mourn them to the point that I had to put a fence around the graves and put up a gate. to keep them out. Of course, then the ghosts get stuck and I want my sims to interact with them.
Sigh.
Otherwise I've had to ban computers from most of my saves, or at least put them in a locked room. - cogshell7 years agoRising HotshotIt's not technically banned since it's an essential but my sims aren't allowed to use the fridge (unless when they need to cook of course). I love having my sims eat dinner/breakfast together but with 7 sims it gets frustrating.

The talking toilets. Nothing fills me with rage like them cancelling an action to appreciate the toilet for the 100th time.
Also, it's the only toilet they want to use. I've had Sim after Sim pee themselves because they insisted on walking past SIX BATHROOMS to get to the fancy talking one on the third floor off the bedroom for my house favorite.
While I don't bar computers and gaming rigs from my homes, I have started keeping them in a locked room by themselves, because visitors just ignore my Sims in favor of those. Also, my sims ignore me in favor of those. They'll just keep playing computer games and miss work altogether. It's a little too much like real life. - mitchiebanjo7 years agoNew HotshotPets. Cutest pets in the series but a pain in the neck to have in a household. Also weather effects. EA doesn't know the meaning of the term moderation.

- Kathykins7 years agoSeasoned AceI'm now adding fireplaces to my list of things. What do the sims do during a heat wave? That's right. Light the fireplace and WARM themselves.
I also wish I could put umbrellas on my list of banned things. But, doesn't matter how many times I tell my sims to put them away, next time I play that household, they have the blasted things again. I really, really miss the physical umbrellas they kept in their inventories. "AlbaWaterhouse;c-16723773" wrote:
Ha! Good question.
Sims are obsess with some specific objects and that board that came with Parenthood is a great example.
For me, the object that is absolutely banned is the highchair.
Highchairs don't work as intended and make my sims waste precious time, they are forbidden in my game. Instead I always add an armchair or a sofa to the kitchens and dining rooms for toddlers to eat and socialise from there.
I agree! I never use them!- The gaming rig! I CANNOT keep my sims off it.

The cowplant for now. When it first grew it was so fun and my Sims loved her ( called her Bessie in fact hehe) But one of my Sims was truly obsessed with her. ALWAYS going outside to play with her or feed her. He'd even walk around the house with her in his thought bubbles. One morning before I even realized what was going on he got up and went outside and when I realized what was going on I saw he was reaching for the cake the cowplant was so "generously" offering. I acted quick, went into build mode and removed the cowplant and tossed her in inventory. Sim was confused, but safe. Ugh. So yeah, she only comes out for small bursts and careful monitoring.
Sorry old comment, but I remember having this exact issue in TS2. But instead of my own sims, it was always NPC guests that ended up being Cowplant lunch. I ended up being so sick of the ever-growing graveyard on my sims front lawn that I built a fence around said Cowplant with a locked gate that only allowed household members access to the murderous plant. I don't think that Cowplant was happy, but it was being fed giant Christmas hams so I don't think it minded too much in the end. xD - AgnesXX925 years agoSeasoned AceHighchairs, gaming rigs and talking toilets. I keep dollhouses as long as the kids are toddlers, after that, it's time for them to go. I haven't banned tv's, stereos, bookcases and computers, but I use mods to stop sims from becoming obsessed with them.
