I don't feel it's going to be a big deal for me. I would have liked snow depth, yes, of course. But I feel like more game play is more important than snow covering my Sims feet.. to where I can't find things 'on the ground', like in Sims 2. While I thought it was cute that you couldn't see the puppies when they walked in snow... at the same time.. I didn't like it because... I couldn't see/find them in the snow. D: Though being able to add the little thing when you hover over snow in Sims 3 you'd be able to see the ground, was a nice touch...
I am happy that there will be more focus on game play instead. Plus, they may have left out a 'detail' of snow depth, but they added a new detail with the fact that Sims will react to heavy winds; something we hadn't gotten in previous games. Reacting to the weather a bit more. Just makes me curious how they'll react to heavy rain, (though I did see a Sim putting their hands over their heads as they were walking in the rain, want to see how they react if they hate the outdoors, or hate rain, etc too) and snow.. and I feel like that'll help us story tellers a lot. (:
