If this is the best version of seasons ever with the seasons being the most detailed and intricate, how does the lack of heavy snow fit in with that? Snow lacking depth doesn’t scream intricate detail.
Of they going to say that because they have to somehow believe in thier product if they do not and customers see even the developer is not positively talking about thier product, they may lose customers. For some I think it is goes beyond the snow debacle for they may see something that others do not see and it may not pertain just to this pack but the packs that are coming.
It's PR spin, I get it.
But I don't think it's a wise choice of words when in the same breath he has just said they left heavy snow fall out by choice but the seasons are the most intricate and it's the best seasons ever.
Sims 2 had heavy snow for crying out loud, a game that came out in 2004. The only new thing for the sims 4 so far is the thermostat capabilities. Everything else so far the sims 2 had.
In my view Sims 2 snow was not that good. Go play Sims 2 winter - then play Sims 3 winter and you will see what I mean. Especially if you run a high end machine - Sims 2 snow is pretty disappointing compared to Sims 3. If snow is your thing - Sims 3 did get it right but keep in mind the open world made that possible and the use of the software they used to make Sims 3. Totally different then the World/map making software used in Sims 2 or Sims 4.
But at least Sims 2 had snow! One of my favorite things about TS2 winter is how cozy the houses feel when there's deep snow outside.
I can understand Sims 3 snow looking better but Sims 2 was the first of the series using 3D and I give Sims 2 an pass and Sims 2 was just great in other places which to me balanced out it's flaws. Now moving to Sims 4 I really can't give thier snow issues an pass because as an current version its features should be top notch and nothing less and this is not the case. Imho, EA/Maxis came half-stepping and it got knocked for an decision that was made back in 2014 and it will always bite them in the b u tt until Sims 4 cease production.
