Hmm...
they cant make deep snow and guarantee the quality of the sims 4 ground? Have they ever looked at the gras textures, to get some more washed out and low res textures you would have to travel back to the 16bit age. And its snow, its white! How couldnt you make it look like white snow?
we get features they made in the time they saved from not adding one line of code for a visual layer with a white texture, those must be great right? how could you possible lock up an engine so you cant add a visual layer that does not effect anything?
its like a car that is missing the tires, they are not needed in a computer game it will still work as they are just a visual aspect and yet still you do not question to put tires on the cars as you do not question to put snow in winter.
with that said, its ok if they dont add snow depth if they can not do it. the gameplay features seem to be well done and if they dont fall short it can still be a good pack.
but the argumentation lets you question their abilities...
there are other more plausible reasons like they simply forgot that they might add seasons and visual stuff on the ground like snow and leaves and placed too many small objects that would be hidden under the snow and are too much work to replace them with a winter version etc.
things like that would be understandable reasons for the decision but we are unable to add an elevated layer and a white texture oh come on...
if they want to improve the game with a patch in the future i would suggest to work on the ground now. add a visual layer for snow, leaves, rain, flowers and other ground details for various worlds. as with every layer it can be toggled and has no effect on performance and it can be done quiet fast and improves the games visuals a lot. and even if not perfect its alot better to just elevate collectibles and stuff to stick out of the snow instead of having no snow.
